A Time to Weep - (Ecclesiastes 3)
"...a time to weep and a time to laugh,a time to mourn and a time to dance,"Life is full of different times and seasons (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).
I painted this during a season of weeping. Yet I have come to realize that those seasons can still be beautiful, because God is redeeming those time and working all things together for the good of those who love Him according to His purpose.
The composition features a rain-soaked cobblestone street, where a puddle reflects the warm glow of blurred city lights in the background. The contrast between the cool, dark tones of the foreground and the rich golden hues of the distant lights creates a poignant atmosphere, symbolizing the interplay between earthly sorrow and the eternal hope we have in Christ.
The artist's technique captures texture beautifully—each cobblestone appears tactile, with highlights of pink and purple adding a sense of melancholy. The blurred bokeh effect in the background enhances the sense of solitude, as if the viewer is witnessing a quiet moment of reflection amidst the bustling city.
For collectors, this piece holds immense emotional depth and narrative power. It would make a striking addition to any collection, offering a contemplative and evocative experience that resonates with the human condition.
